Should you accept the first offer you get on your house? Historically, the first offer is often the best offer. With this in mind, though, I wouldn’t be quick to suggest discounting the home especially if it has just come onto the market. A few things to consider before accepting or countering an offer are: current inventory levels, knowing whether it is a balance, buyers or sellers’ market, and what percentage of asking price the average home is receiving currently.
